In 2005 Hagley Theatre Company began offering tuition to young people through their innovative programme, StageOne.

Over the past five years the programme has developed and grown, building a reputation for relevant and contemporary theatre. Parents like the limits on class numbers, the structured curriculum and the end results. Modern scripts from around the world appeal to our young students - no fairytales here!

In 2010 we were pleased to offer Dance tuition to the young people of Christchurch, in keeping with the StageOne model. As with the theatre classes our Young Dance students engage with modern techniques and choroeography.

All fees include GST and are payable at the beginning of each term. Students with outstanding fees may not be included in performances.

Classes will run according to to the standard Ministry of Education timetable. To allow for performance planning students are asked to commit to at least TWO terms of concurrent study.

Parents and caregivers are not permitted to attend with students but will be able to watch classes and rehearsals through 'open sessions' scheduled throughout the year. Progress reports will be issued at the end of each term and public performances have been scheduled.
